There are very few things in the world that are more precious than motherhood. The joy that children bring to you life cannot be measured. So it baffles me when I read stories about mothers that harm their children. From the nobodies like the Saratoga County, NY woman that is accused of snorting cocaine off her breastfeeding baby's stomach. and the Cleveland mom who drowned her two beautiful little girls in the tub, to Britney Spears who lost custody of her children yesterday.

What makes these women lose all sense of motherhood? How can they do the things they have done? As a mom of three, my entire world revolved around my children's happiness and safety. There was never a point when I thought my life would be better without them or by me hurting them. I just could not imagine it. It would bring me to tears to even think of injuring my children.

I understand that life with children brings untold challenges, but that is why I am Mom! To deal with those challenges and to keep my children from harm. I love my job as mom, even though my babies are no longer babies, it is still the most amazing, challenging, best paid job I have ever had and will ever have! My heart goes out to the women out there that allow outside influences to stop them from loving themselves and their children.
